Wu-ftpd

и еще /etc/spwd.db: No such file or directory.. вобщем точ-в-точ такая же проблема... но делаю точно (во всяком случае мне так кажется) то что советует Lundberg в соем ответе, а эффекта ни какого.. Может я не правильно его перевел?

chroot & userid broke

Problem 1:
The main chroot of guest-root is working just fine, the guest users end up in /home/VH.
But, I am having a problem getting wu-ftpd to chdir users into their subfolders.

Problem 2:
When a guest user logs in and does a "dir" or "ls -alF" no users are showing up,
all they get is userids, but the groups are working just fine. I know that
when I do a "ls -lu" on the /home/VH/etc directory the passwd file is never touched,
but the group file is. Am I missing something?

I know that if I login as a real user, everything is just fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance,
Steve

Here is what I have going to far:

I am running FreeBSD 4.4-Release and have just installed upgraded to wu-ftpd-2.6.2.
The ftpaccess file is working just fine for the rest of the parameters.

I have configured the ftpaccess to chroot guest users to /home/VH
I also am seeing an error in the ftplog:
/etc/spwd.db: No such file or directory

You need the user's homes in the chroot-local /etc/passwd to be correct,
when viewed from within the chroot. Note they don't need to take the user
to the same point as the real /etc/passwd would have.

Hmm? Amend my first answer, you need a chroot-local /etc/passwd, period.

If the guest-room is /home, the local passwd file is /home/etc/passwd.
From the above, the guest-root must be /home/VH to use the passwd file
never being touched.
